Why Fobless?
Your building's intercom calls a phone when someone buzzes — and you're not always there to answer. Fobless answers for you: it opens the door for guests you've approved, forwards to your phone when you haven't, and never touches the building's hardware. Three things make it stand out.
Every feature you need, for $5
One flat $5/month per building unlocks everything a resident needs — a dedicated number, automatic door release, guest links, access schedules, caller-ID filtering, and email & push alerts. One simple price, cancel anytime.
Your buzzer, in your smart home
Activate the door straight from Siri Shortcuts, Home Assistant, or a bookmark. Your front entrance becomes just another thing your smart home controls — “Hey Siri, let my guest in.”
A dashboard anyone can use
Everything on one screen: activate with a tap, share a guest link, set a schedule, and see who came and went. No manual, no clutter — set it once and stop thinking about the buzzer.
How it works
Fobless gives your unit a dedicated local phone number, and your building manager points the intercom at it (Fobless hands you a pre-written note to send them). When you've activated it — from the dashboard, a guest link, or your smart home — the next buzz plays the door-release tone and lets your guest straight in. When you haven't, the call simply rings through to your phone like it always has. No fob, no app for your guests, and no changes to the building's hardware.
Everything you get
- Dedicated local number — pick your city and choose your number; the intercom dials local.
- Automatic door release — activate from the dashboard, or from Siri Shortcuts and Home Assistant; the next buzz opens the door.
- Virtual fobs for guests — share a link and guests let themselves in; label, schedule, expire, and revoke links anytime.
- Access schedules — recurring windows (cleaner every Tuesday) or one-time windows that expire on their own.
- Caller-ID filtering — only your building's intercom rings through; spam and wrong numbers to your dedicated number are dropped instead of forwarding to your phone.
- Email & push alerts — know the moment your door opens or a buzz is missed.
- Safe fallback — not activated? Calls forward to your phone. The buzzer never stops working.
For hosts: check-ins on autopilot
Running an Airbnb or Vrbo (beta)? Fobless Pro (an introductory $12/month per property — heading to $15, but lock it in while it lasts) connects your booking calendar and automates the entire check-in. You get a branded guest page — yourname.fobless.com — so you send one link, once: every guest simply enters the last 4 digits of the phone they booked with and is let in, no custom link per stay. Behind it, each reservation goes live at check-in, arms itself around your guest's arrival, and expires at checkout — no codes to send or rotate. Guest names fill in from your booking emails, early check-ins are a one-tap approve, and every entry is logged. And it isn't just for buzzer buildings: with Home Assistant, Pro hands out virtual keys to your smart door locks — issued per stay, revoked at checkout, and secured end-to-end. Set it once and every booking takes care of itself.
Getting started is one email
Because everything keys off the phone number your intercom dials, setup is a single change: sign up, pick your number, and send your building manager the pre-written note Fobless gives you. If you ever cancel, point the intercom back at your own phone number and everything is exactly as it was.
